Promenade is a newspaper to support an exhibition called Journeys with 'The Waste Land' at the Turner Contemporary in Margate. This was a major exhibition exploring the significance of T.S. Eliot’s poem ‘The Waste Land’ through the visual arts, on from the 3rd of February to 7th of May 2018. This newspaper explores the differences between 1921 Margate and today.
I was part of the editorial design team which consisted of 3 of us that were working with a representative from the gallery. The project involved pitching ideas and concepts for the content and the design of the newspaper. Myself and the editorial team commissioned and sourced all the content for the publication including articles and illustrations, and writing some of our own content. The project involved historic research and several appointments at the Margate museum to look through their archives.
Print run of 10,000 at broadsheet size.
Installation at the Turner Contemporary.
